The Consortium

Three Organisations, One Mission

PERMA is the work of three organisations across Cyprus and Spain — each bringing distinct expertise in active ageing, permaculture education, and digital outreach. Together they form an Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership funded under the KA210-ADU 2025 round.

About

Materia - Agecare (Cyprus) is a multi-shareholder social enterprise founded in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 2000. It aims to enhance social participation, education, and quality of life for vulnerable adults. AGECARE provides health, rehabilitation, and wellbeing services, including nursing care, psychosocial support, physiotherapy, cognitive therapy, neuropsychological evaluation, occupational therapy, transportation, and recreational activities. Services are offered through residential, day-care, home care, and outpatient models, giving access to a large inpatient and community-based population. MATERIA-AGECARE is a certified training center (K000557) and training infrastructure provider (D000761) by ANAD, offering seminars on healthcare, psychoeducation, and caregiving. At least three accredited trainers deliver specialized training for health professionals, migrants, and family caregivers.

Since 2014, Materia - AGECARE Cyprus has focused on applied research, innovation, and social impact through EU-funded projects (Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, AAL, Eurostars, EEA Grants). Its Research and Development department specializes in coordinating and designing research methodologies, data analysis, ethical compliance, dissemination strategies, and sustainability action plans. Materia - AGECARE actively develops and tests technological solutions and advanced curricula to address social and health-related challenges.

Project role

Materia leads Activity 1 (Project Management & Coordination) — managing the project, conducting risk assessments, overseeing quality assurance, supervising the Green Practices Manifesto, and organising consortium meetings.

About

Permacultura Cantabria is a non-profit organisation dedicated to sustainability, education, and community development. Its main activities focus on two key areas:

1. Sustainability and Environmental Education — The organisation provides training in permaculture, agroecology, bio-building, circular economy, and climate resilience. It promotes responsible use of natural resources and organic farming through workshops, courses, and hands-on experiences.

2. Human Development and Inclusion — Permacultura Cantabria works on entrepreneurship, personal growth, emotional intelligence, and social inclusion. It engages educators, NGOs, businesses, and public institutions in fostering inclusive education and empowerment.

The organisation actively coordinates and participates in Erasmus+ projects, building a European network for sustainability and social impact. Its work benefits youth, women, older adults, unemployed individuals, and rural communities.

Project role

Permacultura Cantabria leads Activity 2 (Training Pack) and Activity 4 (Community-Based Actions) — developing and delivering training modules on permaculture and active ageing, leading the establishment of community permaculture gardens, facilitating intergenerational workshops, and supporting localisation and pilot testing.

About

At WECHANGE the areas of expertise include the use of media and digital tools to foster awareness raising and education; the development of video-based learning tools; media engagement as a tool for designing, producing, and promoting social innovation initiatives; and strategic development of mainstream and social media campaigns for EU-wide reach.

WECHANGE also implements research and capacity-building initiatives at local, European and international levels in areas related to environment, youth, education and social inclusion, and works on outreach interventions and the integration and reintegration of vulnerable groups to achieve Active Citizenship.

WECHANGE started as a volunteer initiative in 2021 to support the creation of social campaigns with experience on inclusion and acceptance. It is the communication and dissemination partner in two Erasmus funded projects: Erasmus+ PERMASCHOOL (Applying PERMAculture as a pedagogical tool for building healthy SCHOOL ecosystems) and Erasmus+ IGNITED-POWER (Inclusive GeNder and sexual orIenTEation navigation for transformation anD empowerment).

Project role

WECHANGE leads Activity 3 (Digitalization through the PERMA Hub) and Activity 5 (Dissemination & Communication) — developing the PERMA Hub, digitalising learning materials, overseeing dissemination efforts, and developing social media campaigns.

A Transnational Partnership

Three organisations, two countries, one shared commitment to lifelong learning, sustainability, and intergenerational care.

EU-wide Applicability

By collaborating across Cyprus and Spain, PERMA ensures its methods, tools, and training models adapt to different European contexts — across cultural, social, and environmental settings.

Expertise-based Collaboration

Each partner brings distinct knowledge: active ageing and social inclusion (Materia), sustainability and permaculture (Permacultura Cantabria), and digital outreach and dissemination (WECHANGE).

Long-term Sustainability

Project outputs are designed to outlast the funding period. Each partner integrates PERMA's resources into ongoing programmes, expanding reach beyond the project's 18 months.
